Nine separate task groups have been organized by Construction Industry Council to review and recommend actions on resolutions proposed by its delegates at CIC Conference last June.

The conference confirmed 17 resolutions and all have been integrated into the task group reviews.

President, Gordon Jenkins says the groups are made up of leaders in the community that not only include construction, but Government, education as well as lawyers and those from statutory bodies.

Jenkins says the groups will continue until they are comfortable that their findings can be implemented.

He says there is no time line on their investigations.

Jenkin says at a recent meeting the CIC Task Group on Licensing reviewed the way forward to introducing licensing into the building trade.

The Group aims to develop a process in which a licensing platform can be introduced into the country improving building standards and protection from sub-standard materials.
