The Chinese Community in Fiji has been encouraged by the visit by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Long time Chinese businessman and president of the Fiji Hotels Tourism Association Dixon Seeto says the visit means a great deal for Fijians of Chinese descent and to those who’ve moved here over recent years.

“I know that there are a lot of foreign investors that has been coming into Fiji in particular the Chinese investors and i think as we go into the future after a visit by the President of China, and I understand he spent quite some time with these investors and the business community. If the President can give attention to these people then this must be a place to invest’’.

Seeto says the tales of success of Chinese investors in Fiji will surely bring in more investment.

“The successes also of the businesses that the Chinese investors have had in Fiji; be it in construction of what have you; this is the place to come. It would definitely spurn more interest and I’m sure a lot more business ventures in the future’’.

He says Fiji is also working towards getting more Chinese investors over the coming years.
