China-Fiji strategic partnership to move forward

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang says China and Fiji are strategic cooperative partners featuring mutual respect and common development.

Following a successful meeting with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in China last week, Li Keqiang says they’re focusing on areas in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, transportation, communication, infrastructure construction, new energy, tourism and environmental protection for mutual benefit and win-win results.

Li Keqiang says China and Fiji will deeply tap potential in practical cooperation and intensify cooperation in the various fields.

He adds China supports Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in ecological agriculture and other fields in Fiji and he also welcomes Fijian enterprises to explore high quality marine product market in China.

There is hope the joint feasibility study on free trade agreement by both countries will yield positive results to further raise bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

Li Keqiang says China will continue offering help within its capacity for Fiji’s economic and social development.
