Children stand against Bullying

November 26, 2012 4:08 am

Five students have been chosen to make a stand against bullying through their posters.

The students’ posters were picked from total 12 entries in a competition aimed at creating awareness about anti-bullying and anti-social behavior.

Their efforts have been boosted with support from Fiji’s Para-Olympic hero, Iliesa Delana.

The gold-medalist says he is committed to the cause as he faced similar discrimination in school as a child.

“A good example is when I was in primary school and was told by man children not to play since I was amputated and told to just sit and watch games. So those are some of the ways bullying is happening everywhere and we’re targeting the grass root level; so this are the future of tomorrow.”

Delana says students can raise awareness about anti-bullying when children are on holidays.

He adds everyone should be a buddy and not a bully.

The winning artwork will be displayed on billboards around the country next year.
