The Police Force is urging parents and guardians to spend time with their children and have honest discussions about problems they may be facing.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu says suicide cases involving students and young adults can be avoided if parents talk with them.
‘’This is one of the serious concerns that I would like to register amongst all stake holders that are here, From all the reports that we are receiving daily basis this is one of the reports that I have noted a sudden increase from the last two years, as of now we are almost registering attempted suicide and suicide in almost every one and a half day in our daily reports which is of serious concern to us’’.
Tudravu says it is also important for parents and guardians to observe the behavior of their children and address any concerns they may have.
