A four-year-old girl died after her mother allegedly drove their car, off the road near Kasavu last night.

Police say the victim and her 35-year-old mother had left their home in Vuci South and on their way it is alleged her mother called her husband stating she was going to take both their lives.

Bystanders conveyed both the mother and daughter to the Nausori Hospital after their vehicle went off the road.

The 4-year-old was pronounced dead while her mother was discharged and taken into custody at the Nausori Police Station where she is currently being questioned.
