Speaking to FBC News, Ratu Yavala says they are still in shock over the death of the woman.

The woman is alleged to have been killed by her husband who is suspected to have been consuming home brew.

Ratu Yavala says the mixing and consumption of homebrew at Somosomo village has been raised several times in village and district meetings but nothing has been done about it.

He adds, there has been two deaths, years ago as a result of homebrew consumption.

Somosomo Youth Melania Baleilekutu told FBC News, the production and consumption of homebrew in the village is now more common than before.

Baleilekutu says the issue will be worse if not addressed now.

According to police, initial information gathered revealed that the woman’s husband was allegedly drinking homebrew with others from the previous night and leading to the events that led to her death.
