Changes to the Real Estate Agents Act in the pipeline

The Real Estate Agents Act 2006 will be reviewed to improve efficiency.

Board chief executive Virisla Tuimanu says the industry stakeholders will be informed about the changes in due course.

“We have our ground work and we are trying to locate a consultant but it hasn’t actually commence yet. However, last year the industry was being consulted over a number of things ,one of which is the Code of Ethics. Stakeholders were thoroughly consulted on that particular piece of regulation and it is still with the Ministry of Trade.”

Tuimanu says the board is taking recommendations from stakeholders to make the necessary changes.
