Rate payers in Suva can expect some changes in their city rates for next year.

Special Administrator Chandu Umaria says collections for 2012 have been positive, and they have re-looked at the rates for next year.

“I must say there is good news for the ratepayers. I will not tell you now whether there will be a discount or no discount but I am sure when I make the announcement on next year’s rates – everyone will be happy.”

Eighteen million dollars dating back almost25 years, is still owed to the Council.
