Changes in infrastructure to improve WAF services

The Water Authority of Fiji will be replacing aged infrastructure in the new financial year in order to ensure better operational services.

This has been made possible through the operation budget of one hundred and two million dollars in the 2018/2019 National Budget.

Chief Operating Officer Samanmal Ekanayake has confirmed within this financial year, WAF will replace valves and old pipes that in the past have frequently burst.

”Replacement of these pipes will improve the system especially on water pressure .We can’t deviate the customers when there is no water however will receive improvement once we repair old pipe”

Meanwhile, eight new generators will be installed in various water pumping stations around the country.
