The Fijian Elections Office is hosting the conference that includes electoral representatives from Papua New Guinea, the Solomons, Vanuatu, and Fiji.

Melanesian Spearhead Group Director Amena Yauvoli says challenges faced in ensuring a successful election will be a thing of the past.

Yauvoli says this can be achieved at the end of the two-day MSG Members Election Management Bodies conference.

“And this is one of the operational measures that we have put in together from the secretariat perspectives through our governance and legal affairs programme to strengthen the electoral governance process in Melanesia. The meeting is historic because at the sub-regional level it’s much easier to coordinate and strengthen our processes, our linkages”.
