Seventy percent of tenants occupying spaces at the new Public Rental Board flats in Savusavu and Kalabu have made direct rent payments.

The remaining thirty percent had chosen cash payment.

PRB Chief Executive, Patrick Veu says they want tenants to have their rent payment deducted directly from source.

Veu says will also allocate flats to those carrying out cash payment.

He says cash payment is not really an issue with PRB.

There are defaults but we had people who look after the tenants and they closely communicate with the tenants.

They visit estate almost on a daily basis and yes it’s the service that we provide and payments are coming in.

Meanwhile, a total of forty eight rental units has been provided at the Savusavu rental flats while thirty six in Kalabu.
