A 29 year old carpenter of Sakoca, Tacirua outside Suva has been remanded in custody in relation to the death of 87 year old man.

Charles Roneel appeared in the Nasinu Magistrates Court this morning charged with one count of murder and theft.

The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court on the 28th of this month.

The victim’s daughter found the body of the elderly man inside their home when she returned home from work last Saturday afternoon.

Police say the door of the house was left open and some items were allegedly stolen.
