The Carabez Alliance from Australia is in Fiji to help people with hearing problems.

The team from the Australian based non-government organization was in Nadi School for Special Education yesterday, handing out hearing implements to students.

Carabez Alliance Chief Executive Bronwyn Carabez says the trip to Fiji is a community outreach where they’re giving away one thousand free hearing aids to people who suffer from hearing impairment.

“Because hearing aids aren’t available in Fiji so we thought this week we just help the general public.”

The team has been assisting the people of Fiji for the past eleven years.

Carabez says the distribution was a success with lives being changed for many as they can now communicate well with their families and friends.

The team will also be visiting Lautoka, Ba, Savusavu and Labasa.
