A motor vehicle is currently submerged in water in Naduruloulou near Baulevu outside Nausori.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says four people are believed to be still inside the submerged vehicle.

The incident took place around 8:20am when the submerged vehicle traveling towards Nausori tried to overtake another vehicle.

The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road and ended up in the river.

Naisoro says traffic standby officers are currently at the scene.
