The Fiji Cane Lorry Association members are hoping to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the Land Transport Authority soon.

President, Jeeten Singh, says they have already sent a letter to LTA for approval.

Under the MOU cane lorry operators will be given special concessions from LTA for lorry registration to cart cane this season.

Meanwhile Sugar Cane Growers Council acting chief executive, Sunil Chaudhry says lorry operators want to get approval from LTA at their earliest so that there are no issues during harvesting.

Chaudhry says they want all preparations complete so there are no hiccups in cane transportation when mills begin crushing.
