The Social democratic liberal party has today announced forty six names to contest under the SODELPA banner once they are vetted by the elections office.
Party leader Ro Teimumu Kepa told supporters these men and woman were selected on merit and qualifications.
“I’m very proud of the caliber of our line-up. The people of Fiji can feel confident that they have representatives to look after their interests in parliament. Today they receive their call to service from SODELPA. It is a summons to national duty and very much under the SOLDEPA banner but their mission is to serve the people.”
Some of the Provincial nominees include Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, Viliame Gavoka and Sitiveni Naileqe Loco.
Ratu Jone Kubuabola, Dr. Tupeni Baba Dr. Mere Samisoni and former Minister for Local Government Colonel Samu Saumatua lead the list of Urban nominees.
There are five nominees in the national list, Mick Beddoes , Abdul Sahim Cavalevu, Sushil Shudhakar, Nirmal Singh and George Shiu Raj.
Another four names will be announced later.
The party manifesto will be launched in July looking at issues of unemployment, reinstating the great council of chiefs and improving the health sector.
