Ratu Cakobau Road in Suva will be closed temporarily to traffic from this morning for the relocation of the water main required as part of the road upgrade work.
Fiji Roads Authority general manager Network Operations and Maintenance, Aram Goes, says these work will see the continuation of the recently completed road improvements on Queen Elizabeth Drive and Gladstone Road joined up to McGregor Road by the upgrading of Ratu Cakobau and Denison Roads.
The road close will be effective from 6am to 6pm until next month when it’s expected to reopen completely.
Short detours are in place available via Domain, Denison and Pender Roads and also via lower Ratu Cakabau and Gladstone Roads.
Goes says residents and workers accessing through to Berkeley Crescent, Williamson Road and Cakobau Road will be allowed through during the course of work.
The road is expected to re-open on November 10th.
