More than 35 firefighters fought the blaze that completely destroyed the Caines Jannif warehouse on Carpenters Street in Raiwai, Suva this afternoon.
The National Fire Authority confirmed that they received the call at 1:56pm and arrived at the scene at 2.05pm.
NFA Chief Fire Officer Qionilau Moceitai says there’s no reports of fatalities as all employees were evacuated safely.
“On our arrival, all of them were out of the building and only the firefighters ran in and tried to contain the fire. We had the crew from Wailevu station and two crews from Suva station. And also we had to call Navua to come for standby, in Suva for the whole of Valelevu, from Nausori and Suva firefighters had to attend to this call.”
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is still not known and an investigation is on-going.
