Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has urged businesses to make strong submissions for the upcoming national budget.

Sayed-Khaiyum says past submissions by the business sector have had a narrow focus with little or no long term vision.

‘’We have businesses writing in an saying make this duty free, make sure we can tax concessions, make sure our loses can be carried forward to the next 12 or 15 years – but there is no sense of how we can as a country come together to be able to address some of the fundamental issues and the address some of these specific sectorial areas that we have highlighted’’.
