Business forum to boost bilateral relations

July 30, 2019 12:30 pm

The Fiji-New Caledonia Business Forum is a platform to exchange ideas on ways to boost trade and investment between the two countries.

Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau while opening the business forum this morning said Fiji is hoping to diversify its partnership with New Caledonia.

Ratu Epeli urged participants in the three days forum to be thorough and realistic on measures to boost trade and economic growth that will create employment.

He says both countries have an abundance of resources that need to be used for economic prosperity.

Meanwhile, President of the Congress of New Caledonia Chief Roch Wamytan says the obvious constraints faced by the two countries are the smallness of territory, isolation, and structural independence.

The forum ends on Thursday.
