Bureta village receives water tank

July 4, 2015 8:20 pm

Residents of Bureta in Ovalau will soon benefit from a newly installed 1000 litres water tank in the village.

This comes after Assistant Health Minister Veena Bhatnagar paid a visit to the island earlier this week.

Bhatnager returned to Bureta Village to keep her promise of installing a water tank and also handed two wheel chairs to the village.

She says the wheelchairs will provide support towards movement; allow greater mobility, comfort and independence.

The wheelchairs were donated by the LDS Charity who saw patients at Levuka Hospital needing assistance with mobility.

Bhatnagar says she was keen to assist Bureta Village and identify ways in which she could assist.

The Minister has also notified the relevant Ministry on the road condition and drainage issue raised by Bureta Village, which today has been addressed.

Representatives from Bureta Village were humbled and thanked the Minister for her timely intervention.
