Burebasaga mourns the passing of Jese Sikivou

Opposition parliamentarians and the Vanua of Burebasaga are mourning the passing of Jese Sikivou.
Sikivou who worked closely with Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa as her traditional spokesperson passed away earlier this week.
Sikivou closely followed and influenced the development of the media industry in Fiji and the Asia/Pacific region.
He was a former Chief Executive of the Pacific Islands Broadcasting Association now known as PINA and constantly advocated on media independence, fairness, sensitivity, impartiality and accountability.
He mooted the idea of delegating reporters from various Pacific countries to regional meetings and sporting events to develop a stronger, more effective and better informed network of journalists in Asia and the Pacific.
