It’s important to build homes that can withstand category five cyclones.

This was highlighted by Minister for Health, Rosy Akbar as Nasau Village on Koro Island will start its rehabilitation work this month.

Akbar says natural disasters can happen at any time and they must build strong homes.

She also adds that if another cyclone hits the village, people can take shelter at the new refurbed health centre.

Meanwhile, Nasau village Headman Kilioni Tamani says it has not been easy trying to get back on their feet.

Tamani says the rehabilitation work will help those families that are still depending on tents.

Six people died from Nasau Village during Tropical Cyclone Winston in 2016.
