Budget forum to engage stakeholders in the country

A budget forum organized by the Finance Ministry in Suva this Saturday hopes to engage all stakeholders from various sectors.

The forum is expected to directly contribute to the national effort that will continue to build on current economic growth projections.

Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum says representatives from the business community, financial services sector, construction sector, civil society and faith-based organizations will attend.

‘’It’s very important that we get a number of key stakeholders within our country together under one roof and you’ll also know how people have different competing interests so it’s an idea that we came up with to ensure that everybody has understanding of what their competing interests are’’.

The forum will allow the government to receive feedback and also inform participants how the budgetary process works.
