Work on Buca Bay Road, one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the North is complete.
Formally opening the road this morning Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said thousands of people will benefit from the new road – as travel to cities, markets and places will be safer and quicker.
Bainimarama says the new road will attract new investment to the area which will create more jobs and raise the living standards of all people living along Buca Bay.
The Prime Minister had opened the first 10 kilometres of the new sealed road from Nagigi to Naqere last year.
The remaining 20 kilometer section from Naqere to Kasavu was launched today.
Exim Bank of China provided seventy three million dollars for the project.
That is on top of the forty million dollars provided for stage one.
