Bua to receive three new generators

Three generators are expected to arrive into Nabouwalu next month to help with the supply of electricity.

In a briefing to the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Jone Usamate this morning, Provincial Administrator Bua Peni Koro says, with the three generators, they will be able to get electricity 24 hours 7 days a weeks.

The three gen sets were passed and approved for Nabouwalu for this financial year.

Koro says to date, they are still awaiting the delivery and installation of the generators.

Divisional Engineer Northern Tevita Halofaki says they are expecting the generators to arrive in early March.

Currently the Nabouwalu Power House is rationing the electricity supply. Operation of electricity at the moment in Nabouwalu is from 5am to midday and from 2pm to 11pm.

Usamate is on a four day tour of the Northern Division, visiting key water and electricity supply sites as well as commissioning some projects.
