Dutt was in custody for his alleged role as the driver of the getaway vehicle used in the recent Samabula BSP Bank Robbery.

The 36 year old of Waituri in Nausori is facing a charge of Aggravated Robbery.

Road blocks have been erected at Laqere, Delainavesi and Dokanaisuva with a team from the Police Special Response Unit deployed around the Southern, Central and Eastern divisions.

The roadblocks will be up until the escapee is recaptured.

Members of the public are being asked to be patient as Chief Operations Officer ACP Rusiate Tudravu has instructed the recapture team to ensure Dutt is brought back into custody within the next 24 hours.

People are also being reminded that it is an offence to harbor escapees and are being advised to call their nearest community post or police station.

Police warn people have been charged and are now before the courts for allegedly aiding escapees and they wouldn’t want people caught on the wrong side of the law.
