The Royal British Legion has clarified no money is required in order to enlist in the British Army.
General Manager Merewalesi Dewalagilagi’s warning comes as bogus British Army recruitment agents have requested hundreds of dollars from those wishing to enlist.
Dewalagilagi says the Legion in Fiji provides guidance and support to applicants, so it would be best to check with them first.
“There is a lot of bogus going around saying that they need to pay $300 in order to get in. Every single applicant, if you want to apply, you need to do this online. Everything is done online, all applications is done online, and it is nothing to do with any payments.”
The British Army will continue recruiting Fijians throughout this year with the recruitment age between 18 and 36.
