An eight-year-old boy of Nasole in Nasinu died after a damaged gate fell on him.

It is alleged the child’s mother had sent him to look for his elder brother when a damaged sliding gate, fell on him.

The boy was rushed to the Valelevu Health Centre and later transferred to CWM Hospital in Suva where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile a ten-year-old boy of Vuci Nausori drowned earlier this week while swimming with his family.

Police are urging parents and guardians to always keep an eye on their children and be aware of their whereabouts.
