Body identified

The identity of a woman whose body was found floating in the Rewa River in Nausori two days ago has been identified by her daughter last night.

The woman, who has been missing since Saturday, was positively identified at the Wainibokasi mortuary last night.

The daughter had reported her mother was missing and was then taken to the mortuary to identify the body.

The victim was of Indian descent and believed to be aged between 45-55.

The female body was discovered by a woman who was diving for fresh water mussels in the river near the Nayala Sub-division on Saturday afternoon.

A post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow to ascertain the cause of death.
