The education ministry continues to provide transport assistance to schools in the interior and the maritime zones with boats and engines.

While handing over a boat and an outboard motor engine to Vacalea Primary School in Kadavu, Education Minister Dr. Mahendra Reddy said the government places a significant emphasis on the education sector.

“Today is another example of, we are assisting the school in Vacalea by providing a boat and an engine. I was been told that there has been a major problem in students getting to schools. I want to assure all the schools in the interior and the maritime zone that if you need a boat and an engine, we will provide.”

Reddy said the Education Ministry will assist all schools in every way to help students achieve better in school.

More than two hundred thousand dollars were allocated in the National budget to provide boat and engines to nine listed schools.
