Boat and Engine donated to Lau School

More than 40 students of Kabara District School in Lau will benefit from the new boat and engine handed over by the Ministry of Education.

The boat will assist in the transportation of students to and from school.

The assistance worth $19,600 will benefit students of two other schools, Vunigigia Village School and Naikeleyaga Village School in Lau.

Kabara District School manager, Jone Marau says the students will no longer have to walk to schools adding that the boat will also be used to transport children to the health centre when need arises.

Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy says the Fijian Government is committed to ensure that all Fijian students have access to learning facilities, including those schools that are located in isolated communities.
