Biosecurity Authority of Fiji’s Executive Chairman Xavier Riyaz Khan has issued a stern warning to its staff members that further investigations will be carried out if anyone is suspected of breaching any policies.

This comes after the termination of three Biosecurity officers for causing significant transactional errors through BAF’s financial systems.

Khan says BAF is working closely with affected stakeholders to correct any errors resulting from the gross misconduct of the 3 terminated staff.

Khan adds BAF places huge emphasis on transparency and accountability and will not tolerate any deviation from this policy.

He says anyone suspected of breaching relevant legal provisions and terms of employment contracts will be taken to task.

Khan says any criminal prosecution will be independently determined by FICAC.
