“These are certain areas that are of immediate concerns that are worrying our youths today and also become a national interest, like drug issues, unemployment and also violence against women, but those are things that we are targeting that we also create awareness with young people together with their skills”

Soko adds that financial literacy will also be implemented in the Center.

“After graduating, most of them make it to formal employment but some may get self-employed, so in terms of their financial bit of business or entity we are also targeting life skills or other skills to be taken in the Centre”

Soko says a good percentage of graduates from the National Youth Training Centre is now in the Military, Police and Fiji Correction Band while some are now teaching music classes.
