Minister for Women and Children Mereseini Vuniwaqa opened the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA +25) Review Forum in Suva today.

Vuniwaqa says the forum is crucial as Fiji has taken huge strides in the area of women empowerment and gender equality.

She says this year Fiji is set to submit the BPfA +25 Progress Report.

This will include an assessment of current challenges that affect the implementation of the agreements enshrined in the BPfA.

The forum was attended by government ministries departments and various Non-governmental organizations.
