Beat or Police Patrol is deemed more effective compared to other means of patrolling says Acting Police Commissioner, Isikeli Ligairi.

Ligairi says the force is working on other forms of patrolling like the CCTV iniative but police patrol results are still much higher.

“Beat Patrol is good because one it is reassuring. When people see the uniform you know the fear is taken away. It also restores the public confidence when they see the uniform. So it dampens the spirit of those who want to commit offences and of course the most important thing is the bridging of gap in terms of our relationship with the very people with serve – the community.”
