Be responsible while travelling on roads says Police

Fijians are being urged to be vigilant while travelling on our roads.

Police spokesperson Jokatama Qio says it’s troubling to note that a road accident is reported in their stations daily around the country.

Qio says both pedestrians and drivers need to understand their responsibilities while on the roads.

“If you are behind the wheels you have to be mindful that the lives of your passengers are in your hands. Be careful when using the roads and please ensure that safety and security is paramount at all times while using the roads.”

The road death toll currently stands at 46 compared to 40 for the same period last year.
