Be more diligent: Sharma

The Health Ministry is striving to develop a better understanding with the public who visit their facilities.

While Fiji’s Health service is still developing, Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma has called on nurses and doctors to be more diligent.

“The services must be appropriate, so our nurses, practitioners should come on time and they must be able to serve the people well with an appropriate approach. You cannot be grumpy and you cannot be shouting on them. I know that the pressure is on but at the same time we need to be customer focused.”

Dr Sharma has also reminded authorities of the need to always be sufficient.

“Sometimes we look at our supplies and the pharmacist says I don’t have this I don’t have that which is the story of the past, it should not be the case, we have optimized the services, if your centre is running out of supplies then you should know that the supplies are ordered on time.”

Major hospitals and some health centers are now open from 6:30am to 10pm daily.
