A paramount chief of the chiefly island of Bau in Tailevu, Ratu Epenisa Cakobau yesterday filed an application for a restraining order against a police officer and a soldier.
He appeared before Magistrate Joji Boseiwaqa.
This followed a raid in June when the Native Land Commission instructed the police to stop the installation ceremony because of an ongoing dispute over who should take the Vunivalu title.
Ratu Epenisa claims a police officer stormed into his room armed with guns and without a search warrant and kidnapped him at gun point.
Ratu Epenisa says he has seen no remorse and fears they may return.
The police officer told the court he had acted on the instructions of the Commissioner of Police.
The case has been adjourned until September 10th.
