According to Kumar, the four Bangladeshi are crying for justice and they’re calling for an end to their misery.

“We are not dealing with static materials on the shelf they don’t have an expiry date, they have families, what if this happens to my brothers and sisters, so we need to take care of them.”

Kumar who is a resident of Howell Road in Suva says he was disillusioned when he learned of their situation.

“That our local companies do not engage in exploiting these poor people, it is that they are poor, they are vulnerable and we can do anything, no, no way.”

Kumar says that they complained to their employer and threatened to take the matter to the Attorney General and the reply from their employer was unacceptable.

“He said what can AG do, is this AG’s country, is he your father and he can’t even pluck a hair out of my head, so this is very offending statements.”

Meanwhile, Police have confirmed they’re investigating the allegations of assault made by these foreign nationals and the report will be sent to the DPP’s Office.
