All ballot boxes for polling day have now been packed.

The last batch of ballot boxes for polling venues in the Central Division were all packed and sealed today.

They will be dispatched to the Central Division Storage facility later this afternoon.

Ballot boxes for the Northern and Western Divisions have already been sent to their respective storage areas.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says the verification of these ballot boxes by presiding officers will start as early as Sunday afternoon.

He adds, the FEO is well in advance with regards to time.

Meanwhile, in the 2014 general election, the last ballot box for the Central division was packed two days before election.
