A team of more than fifty people left for Germany this morning to attend the Conference of Parties 23.
Among them is Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, Chief Negotiator, Ambassador Nazhat Shameem, Climate Champion – Inia Seruiratu and Minister Responsible for Climate Change Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Bainimarama says he needs the support of the entire nation for this global event.
Over twenty thousand people from around the world will be attending the two weeks of COP23.
As a symbol of the presidency, Fiji has placed a spectacular Drua in the main foyer in Bonn, which has been floodlit for maximum impact.
Bainimarama says it is a message to the world that all 7.5 billion people on earth are in the same canoe.
The global conference will showcase steps countries are taking towards a low-emission, climate-resilient global economy.
