Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has arrived in New York on the eve of the Global Climate Action Summit.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister was given a briefing at the Fiji Mission to the UN.
Fiji’s delegation to the Climate Summit and the UNGA 74 include the Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Climate Action Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Minister for Women and Social Welfare Mereseini Vuniwaqa and Fijis High-Level Climate Champion Inia Seruiratu.
Bainimarama’s first official high-level event for the Climate Summit will be Towards a Resilient Future event tomorrow.
He will be speaking alongside the Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and the Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The Prime Minister will then deliver Fiji’s address at the 74th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA74) on Thursday.
He is also expected to hold meetings with world leaders and dignitaries.
