Bail ruling for Lateef stood down

The bail ruling for Suva Lawyer Shazran Lateef and co-accused Zoe Maharaj Moore has been stood down until 12 pm.

The two are charged with three counts of being in possession of illicit drugs.

Lateef told the court this morning that remand conditions were acceptable for him, but Moore raised the issue of the remand center being overcrowded.

It is alleged that last Sunday, Lateef, and Moore had in their possession 7.89 grams of illicit drugs namely Methamphetamine.

It is alleged that on the same day, they also had with them 12.49 grams of Cocaine and 2.5 grams of Marijuana.

This is the fourth such charge for Lateef who is currently on bail for three previous charges.

The case will be recalled at midday.
