The Chinese national currently facing corruption related charges in the Suva Magistrates Court had her second bail application refused.

Ling Gao was charged earlier this year by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption with one count each of bribery and possession of forged document.

The Resident Magistrate labeled her bail application as a frivolous one and refused it in the interest of justice.

Furthermore, the Court noted that the accused is already on a Warrant of Detention and Removal Order by the Permanent Secretary for Immigration and that there was no change of circumstance to justify a second bail application.

She has been further remanded pending trial.

Gao is charged alongside two other individuals for allegedly offering $100 to an exemption officer at the Department of Immigration to alter the Work Permit on her Chinese passport in January.

The other accused in this matter are Parvir Rattan who faces one count of bribery.

The third accused is exemption officer Sereima Rokovada who is facing one count each of bribery and using a forged document.
