Farmers from Ba are giving their views to the Fiji Sugar Corporation and the Sugarcane Growers Council as the public consultation continues.
Today the consultation was held in Nukuloa College in Ba and is currently underway.
Council General Manager Operation Sunil Chaudhry says the consultation will also help them develop the National Sugar Policy.
Chaudhry says this is the 13th consultation conducted which started in Rakiraki.
He told farmers that they want to hear their views and critics of the sugar industry.
Cane farmer, Deo Raj claims there is an issue of bad management of grants.
Raj alleges that at the moment, the grants are given to any sugarcane farmer especially, the new farmers.
He called on FSC to give the grants to farmers who have proven their worth over the years.
The suggestion has been taken on board by FSC.
