Australian Defence Force in Fiji for Joint Training

A Royal Australian Navy ship with 700 personnel on-board arrived in Suva yesterday as part of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018.

The Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018 is where the Australia Defence Force personnel’s undertake community engagement activities.

These activities are centred on joint training and capacity building within the Pacific.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes says this is key part of Australia’s commitment to enhance and re-affirm the positive relationships with the Pacific through joint practical activities.

Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2018 Joint Task Group Commander, Captain Jim Hutton says initiatives to work and train together are fundamentals to joint capability with Fiji.

He says Australia already has a collaborative relationship with Fiji.
