The Australian Government will continue to support projects that will assist in improving the livelihoods of Fijian communities.

This was highlighted by the Australian High Commissioner, John Feakes while opening a new footpath at Vanuadina in Tokatoka, Tailevu yesterday.

Feakes says that this particular project will benefit more than 200 villagers in the area.

“Villages in Fiji are the backbone of this country and we are glad that we are able to help in a small way in this village.”

It took 40 days for the villagers of Vanuadina to construct the footpath and it was a much anticipated initiative as it is a flood prone area.

Twenty-three thousand dollars was given by the Australian Government for the project.
