Australia gives close to $10m towards COP23

The Australian Government is contributing close to $10 million towards Fiji’s COP23 Presidency.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while thanking the Australian government said he is proud to take up the enormous responsibility.

Speaking at the Australia and Fiji Business Council Forum in Sydney, Bainimarama also highlighted that the country’s GDP doubled and revenue tripled over the last decade.

He says his government’s effort are focused on two fronts, realizing the greater opportunity for Fijians at home and deepening economic ties abroad including Australia.

Bainimarama says a services and manufacturing zone is being developed in Lautoka which will bring modern, robust infrastructure and premier connectivity, making it a prime target for investment and production for high quality finished goods and components.
